Action Beat

Noise rockers Action Beat draw influence from early Sonic Youth and avant-garde composer Glenn Branca. The five-piece originating from Bletchley, UK are perhaps best known for their live performance which often include elements such as improvisation and cross-tuning, as well as a flow of guest musicians which enable the band to experiment with up to three or more drummers and guitars on-stage at once.

Action Beat was founded in 2004 by Don McLean and James Carney. Their debut album '1977-2007: Thirty Years of Hurt, Then Us Cunts Exploded' was released three years later on the band’s own label Fortissimo Records. The debut led to a recording contract with Truth Cult/Southern Records. Their second album 'The Noise Band from Bletchley' was released in 2009 and was followed by extensive touring.
