Since 2007 drummer Mrs. Press, and bassist/singer Mr. Press, have been firmly compiling a fan base with their fervent live shows. In 2009 seven supreme tunes were collected for the band’s debut album, Moons: a set of experimental compositions fused with raw energy, and hints of resplendent shoe-gaze. Now on Men, their 2012 sophomore effort, they stretch themselves even further, appending prog-rock musical interludes to their bittersweet melodies, and bass riffs that unbeknownst, would bamboozle a listener into believing they were performed on guitar. Writing outside of any specific genre, the Queens based band has dubbed their style “okapi,” after the distinct looking African mammal. Keep a watch on them as they bustle onto the music scene, as this is only the inception.
