Stray Ghost

Stray Ghost (alias of Oxford-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Anthony Saggers) contributes with "Jardin Garden Memory". The track opens in a cinematic style, with the sound of rain and delicate piano, and builds superbly to incorporate chilling strings and barely audible samples of French speech, expertly adding to the wistful tone of the piece. Fans of our own 130701 imprint, particularly Dustin O'Halloran and Johann Johannsson, are especially encouraged to check this out!

Stray Ghost was working on three albums when he submitted his demo to us - two solo works as well as a collaborative album with Eugene Robinson of the band Oxbow. This added to the young composer's already-expansive discography, which in 2011 included four albums ('Stray Ghost', 'Losthilde', 'An Avalanche Of Swollen Tounges' and the most recent 'Nothing, But Death') and three EPs ('Fabula/Sjuzhet', 'A House of Gold and Oak' and 'Each Paradise is a Lost Paradise'). Below you will find links to purchase these, find out more about Stray Ghost, and discover why his work has garnered such praise as "a prime example of the refreshing and beautiful ambient renaissance" (The Silent Ballet) and "an exquisitely unforgettable listen" (Foxy Digitalis).
